Your tyre

Ultra-high performance summer

Sharp, sticky, and still sensible to live with.

Everyday-tier power starts to overwhelm touring rubber, especially in the wet. UHP tyres add the braking and steering you need and still last.

How buying works

  1. Know your size

It’s printed on your current tyre, like 225/45 R17 94W, and on the placard in the driver’s door jamb. Read a sidewall

  2. Order online

Tap a tyre’s Tyroola link, enter your size or rego, and pick a fitter near you at checkout, or a mobile fitter who comes to you. Compare fitted prices. Afterpay and Zip are offered.

  3. Get them fitted

The tyres arrive before your booking, so you just turn up. Fitting and balancing four takes about an hour. Add a wheel alignment while the car is there: it stops the new tread wearing unevenly.

For your car

  • Front-wheel drive

Your front tyres do the steering, braking and driving, so they wear faster. Rotate front to rear every 10,000 km to keep wear even.

  • Wet grip matters most

In a wet climate, rank tyres by wet braking first. On the EU tyre label the gap between wet grip classes A and E is up to 18 m when stopping from 80 km/h, several car lengths.

  • Buying only two?

Put the new pair on the rear axle, even on a front-driver. Grippy rears keep the car stable when braking or cornering in the wet; worn rears are what cause spins.
