What does UHP mean on a tyre?

UHP stands for ultra-high performance. It is a retail category, not a sidewall marking: summer tyres rated V (240 km/h) or above, with grippier compounds and stiffer construction than touring tyres. They are the usual choice for warm and hot hatches and fast sedans.
